EventJobs involve working at events such as festivals, concerts and fairs. EVENTMARKETING

Looking for an Event Job?

This author is the official photographer
for the NW Washington Fair and the Lynden Rodeo.

Getting an event job can be difficult. Many people want to work at events such as county fairs and concerts. There are many types of event jobs. At the fair we had dozens of young people working the grounds cleaning up and interacting with the visitors. This is a great event job - but it only lasts a week.

Our permanent event staff include an accountant, an event promotion manager, event marketing director and even sponsor coordinators. In addition, most events such as festivals and fairs have many volunteers.

The easiest way to get an event job is to go to the event office itself and simply tell them that you want to work events. They will take your application.

Most events have a high turnover in staff - but on the other hand - an event needs a lot of people to pull off.

Most event jobs deal with the logistic and operation of the event. These jobs are hands-on and requires quick thinking and excellent planning skills. Normally, formal education is not required but a degree in event management can be helpful.

Dedicating a great deal of time and effort to an event job search is not only recommended, it's essential.

Most employment counselors suggest that people look for work in an organized way, as if the search itself were a full-time job. Begin each morning just as you would if you were going to work: get up early, get dressed, and have breakfast. Then, approach the day's regimen of job-hunting tasks with the same interest and professionalism that an employer would expect.

Taking charge and approaching a career search seriously can help you focus on the importance of finding a job.

The success of your event job hunting mostly depends on your efforts. Take the lead - get the event job you want.
